STORY 12

Katie: Oh, hi, Brian. How are you?

Brian: I'm fine. Hey, are you alright? You don't look so well.

Katie: I think I'm coming down with a bit of a cold.

Brian: Oh, really? How long have you been sick?

Katie: Just, since last night. It is nothing serious though.

Brian: Are you sure?

Katie: Yeah, I'm sure. I'll be fine.

Brian: It's probably because you have been working too hard.

Katie: Hey, it's true that I work a lot, but everyone gets sick occasionally.

Brian: I think the problem is you work too hard, and then you don't eat properly. If you don't eat well, then of course you are going to get sick all the time.

Katie: I'm not sick all the time. I just happen to be sick today.

Brian: But you had a cold just last month.

Katie: Yeah, that is true.

Brian: I'll tell you what, I'll make you a nice, healthy dinner tonight and you will be feeling better in no time.

Katie: Oh, that's sweet of you.

Brian: You know, you should let me teach you how to make a few simple dishes at home, then you can cook for yourself more often.

Katie: I don't really have time to cook at home, though.

Brian: But you don't have to have a lot of time. There are loads of dishes I could teach you how to make that take less than 15 minutes to cook.

Katie: That's all?

Brian: Yeah, sure. Cooking does not have to be a long, difficult process. If you get into it, you can really enjoy cooking.

Katie: You know, living with Lisa, I have noticed that she doesn't eat very well either.

Brian: There you go. If you both get into cooking, that's something you two can enjoy doing together.

Katie: Yeah, that sounds like it would be fun.

Brian: So let me go get you a nice hot cup of tea here, and then we can go to my place where I will cook for us. Next week, when you are feeling better, I will give you a couple of cooking lessons.

Katie: Oh, that is so nice of you!

Brian: No, no. I'm looking forward to it as well.
