STORY 7

Katie: Oh, hi, Brian. How are you?

Brian: Just fine. We just got here.

Katie: So, Jason, this is my new roommate, Lisa, who just moved in a few weeks ago.

Jason: Hi. Nice to meet you.

Lisa: Nice to meet you, too.

Katie: Jason works with me, and he does all the art direction at the company, taking photos and designing catalogues and that kind of thing.

Lisa: Yes, Brian and Katie were telling me about you the other day.

Brian: I'll just go get us some drinks. What would you guys like?

Lisa: A latte, please.

Katie: Cappuccino.

Brian: Just a coffee is fine.

Katie: Lisa also works for the fashion industry, Jason.

Jason: Oh, really, what do you do?

Lisa: I do editorial work, and help with organizing events and photo shoots.

Jason: Oh, yeah, I remember Katie saying something the other day about a friend who was doing a photo shoot or something. That must have been you.

Lisa: Probably. But I don't do photo shoots, really, I just help with organizing them, getting the clothes ready and making sure the models show up on time and that kind of thing.

Katie: Actually, that is how Lisa and I met. She came into our office to borrow some clothes for a shoot.

Jason: Oh, OK. So you two haven't known each other that long, then.

Lisa: No, in fact we had only known each other for about a month when I moved in.

Jason: Oh, well that was quick. What's it like living with Katie?

Lisa: It's been great so far. She is kind of like an older sister, giving me advice on work and things like that.

Katie: Oh, that is sweet of you to say.

Lisa: But I mean it. I really appreciate all you have done for me so far.

Jason: So, Lisa, when you do photo shoots for your magazine, do you have your own photographers, or do you use outside people?

Lisa: Oh, we are still a small magazine, and we don't have any full-time photographers. A few of our writers are good with a camera, and they sometimes do their own photography for small projects, but we usually get freelance people to do it.

Jason: You know, I do a lot of photography for our company.

Lisa: Yes, Katie mentioned that.

Katie: Jason is a very good photographer.

Jason: Thanks, Katie.

Lisa: I would love to see some of your work sometime.

Jason: Yeah, sure. And maybe we could work on a project together sometime.

Lisa: Yes, that sounds nice.

Brian: OK, guys, here are your drinks. A latte, that's yours, Lisa.

Lisa: Thanks.

Brian: A cappuccino for Katie. Here you go, Jason.

Katie: Thank you.

Jason: Thanks, man.
