Q: You are talking on the phone, and you couldn’t hear what the person just said right now. What would you say?
A: I’m sorry?
Or you could say,
A: I beg your pardon?

 


Q: You are talking, and you want the person to repeat a name of the building he told you. What would you say?
A: Would you say that building’s name again, please?

 


Q: You are talking, and you couldn’t catch the station’s name. What would you say?
A: Where did you say?
Or you could say,
A: What station did you say?

 


Q: You are talking, and you want the person to repeat a person’s name he told you. What would you say?
A: Who did you say?

 


Q: You are talking, and you couldn’t understand the word ‘gadget.’ What would you say?
A: What does ‘gadget’ mean?

Q: You couldn’t hear what the person said, so you asked a person to say it once again. The person did so, and now you understand. What would you say?
